Hoofprints On The Heart Adaptive Riding Clinic is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by three women with various life experiences, but having a common dream of pairing horses with the disabled population. This grassroots organization was created as a result of unique chance meetings, a common love of horses, and a need in the Tri Valley area for adaptive riding. All three founders have been teachers of handicapped students, and one is a parent of a son with multiple disabilities. Each has seen how a horse can “magically” change a child with limited abilities.

HOTHARC is a dream in the making. The need for such a program in the area is great and we are intent on ensuring a solid foundation to guarantee its success. We are located in Livermore at 455 Olivina Avenue on the 4.5 acre historic Hagemann Ranch. Currently, HOTHARC welcomes new students, volunteers and supporters. Opportunities for involvement include working with horses and students at lessons, ranch maintenance, office support, participation in special events, and participation on fund raising committees. As a volunteer-based organization, your support is an essential part of ensuring our success. Find out how you can help us grow.

Our daughter has been riding at HOTHARC for more than 14 months. The physical, social and verbal changes in her are astonishing! When she first started riding she needed a side-walker and the instructor led her around the ring. She was tense and afraid to participate in any of the balance drills. She is now able to ride completely unassisted and performs complex tasks with only verbal instruction. She is now being challenged to trot around the ring, completely solo. This program is amazing!
